World Cup

World cup of South Africa must be the most noticeable event in the world this month, it has already been two weeks since the first match started on June 11. I like playing soccer very much, so I have paid lots of attention on the matches everyday. Some teams played very well, some teams did not. Of all teams, Argentina did best job, they won all their 3 games very easily. Italy is one of the teams that I like very much, they were very balance in both offensive and defensive, this was why they won the last World Cup, but they did too badly this time, even has not won a match. France is another team has similar situation like Italy, though it is not one of my favorite teams, it surprised me. Because Italy does not have enough good players this time, not as much as four years ago, but there are enough good players in France. Another team I like best is Spain, it is my favorite team, when I am playing soccer video games, Spain is the team I choose mostly. Although they lost the first match, they woke up in time and won the rest 2 matches in their group. Spain will meet Portugal in the elimination matches, I believe that Spain will beat Portugal.

Man and His Environment

After reading the news and looking at the photos about the oil spills happened in the Gulf of Mexico, I felt so sad and was shocked. Throughout history man has changed his physical environment in order to improve his way of life. With the tools of technology he has altered many physical features of the earth. He has transformed woodlands and prairies into farms and made lakes and reservoirs out of rivers for irrigation purposes or hydroelectric power. Man has also modified the face of the earth by draining marshes and cutting through mountains to build roads and railways. However, man's changes to the physical environment have not always had beneficial results. Today, pollution of the air and water is an increasing danger to the health of the planet. Each day thousands of tons of gases come out of the exhausts of motor vehicles. Smoke from factories pollutes the air of industrialized areas and the surrounding areas of the countryside. The pollution of water is equally harmful. The whole ecological balance of the sea is being changed and industrial wastes have already made many rivers lifeless. Now environmental protection is more pressing than ever before. As we know, massive destruction of environment has brought about negative effects and even poses a great threat to man's existence. Indifference to these problems will mean committing suicide. Therefore, effective measures should be taken and laws passed to conserve environment. Otherwise, man is certain to suffer from the serious consequences caused by this lack of care for his living surroundings.

Fishing

I have a new hobby, which is fishing. I had my first fishing experience last Sunday, I went fishing with my friend, Mr He. We started at daybreak. After three hours' cycling, he drove me to a small lake. The water was clear and clean. One could see fish swimming. The meadow sprinkled with buttercups slopes to the stream. It was a good place for fishing.
After getting everything ready. Mr He taught me how to put the bait of earthworms on the hook, and how to drop the hue into the strum, I got it soon, and we began to sit there fishing with rod in hand. An hour passed. I did not catch any fish. I lifted the fishing rod time and again. Time and again I was disappointed. On the other side of the stream, Mr He had caught several fish,

"How comes it that you catch fish easily while it is so difficult for me?" I asked.
"It is very easy, just be patient." Mr He answered.
I followed his advise, I kept quiet and did not move, and after a long time I finally got one fish, I felt so happy and began loving fishing.

People always want to reach their goals as soon as possbile, so that they neglect the being patient, but it is one of the most important facts to be succeed.

How to Keep Healthy

Nowadays more and more people are concerned about their health. But how to keep healthy? Different people may give different answers to this question. In my opinion, it is essential to do the following.
First, it is absolutely necessary to take some exercise every day. Research shows that getting plenty of exercise make the heart beat faster and the lungs work harder. This strengthens the heart, reduces the chance of heart attack, and helps lower blood pressure. That's why more and more people are becoming active in various kinds of sports and exercises. Every morning many people get up early and take much exercise. Some practice shadowboxing and swordplay while others run, jog, walk or dance to music. In the afternoon, there are also many people keen on sports. Some play basketball or volleyball or table tennis, others go in for gymnastics or track events. Through sports and exercise, people become healthier and stronger.
Medical researchers have proved that what people eat affects their health. They advise people to eat more fruit and vegetables and less meat such as beef and pork because meat contains more fat than poultry and fish. Fat can build up in the arteries, block the flow of blood, and cause a heart attack or stroke.
Getting rid of bad habits like smoking and drinking alcohol is also an important way to keep healthy. Smoking and drinking alcohol injure one's health a great deal, and therefore should be given up. Unfortunately few people follow this advice.
If people follow these three ways of keeping fit, they greatly improve their health.

Saving Money

As we all known, the economy is doing bad now, many business face closure, a lot of people lost their job or having a low income. The price of everything is raising except the employee's wages. Life become more and more hard, especially those low income people. Some people's houses are being retaken by the bank because they do not have enough money to pay the loan.

As the economy down turn is a fact, why don't we find a way to make our life better by saving our money in our daily spending. To live more colorful you should follow the following three steps. First, you need to make a list which mark down how much do you spend for one month. Details are: How much do you spend on grocery and eating outside. If you often shop in the supermarket. Be a smart shopper by shopping things that is on sale because every supermarkets have different knock down in each week. The special price difference between the original price with almost double.Second, you should turn of the light when you go out .In winter, the weather is very cold everybody turn on the heater, that cost a lot of money. If you are living alone you can just use a electric heater. That will be much cheaper. Third, don't waste the foods. If you just eat a little, then you don't need to cook too many foods.

In short, if you want to live better you have to start saving money from your daily life. Though this is a little money .If you can save it ,just save it.

Punctuality

Punctuality means observing regular or appointed time. A man who gets up at seven o'clock every morning is punctual.A man who has promised to call on a friend at five o'clock in the afternoon and actually does so at that hour is also punctual.

Punctuality is a good habit, and unpunctuality a bad one.A few minutes' delay may not be a serious matter, but it may have bad result. Getting up five minutes later than usual may upset the plan of the day. Calling on a friend five minutes later than the appointed time may cause him some unexpected trouble. Moreover, habitual unpunetuality leads to indolence and even failure in life. One delay after another makes a man unable to exert himself. It also proves him to be untrustworthy.

Those who are unpunctual should try their best to get rid of their bad habit. In doing this, they should avoid making any kind of exception. They should never say to themselves. "A few minutes' delay does not matter this time. I shall never be unpunctual again." Those who think in this way will find excuses for delay from time to time, and will at last give up the attempt to cultivate the good habit.

Like all other good habits, punctuality becomes second nature with those who have duly cultivated it.

How to Reduce Stress

As the pace of modern life continues to quicken, many people are in the habit of rushing through life. Some admit that stress seems to be increase all the time. A certain degree of stress is beneficial to us, but too much stress is certainly harmful, and sometinles may even harmful to our health and physique. So it is necessary to know how to reduce stress.
There are many ways that can help us solve this problem, but the following is what I think most effective. First, learn to collie to terms with yourselves. Don't set a goal that is too high because there are many things in this world that are beyond your reach. Learn to be content to go as far as you can. Second, learn to collie to terms with the world around you. Don't try to change other people or other things. There are people and things in this world that you can do nothing about. So learn to accept them. Third, don't be too interested in material things and don't try to "keep up with the Joneses." Don't harbor any jealousy, vanity or resentment to others. Be satisfied with what you have. Finally, keep in touch with your friends. Talk with them, share with them your happiness and misery. This will help to make you feel better.
These are not necessarily the only ways to solve the problem, and it is my hope that everyone can reduce the too much stress in his work and study and live a relaxed happy life.
